    Haymarket
The Haymarket in downtown Lincoln has a great selection of restaurants, bars, and scenic spots. It is home to the "Cube" which offers a great place to watch Husker football on Saturdays while you enjoy a drink with friends. After dinner, you can choose from several places to enjoy an ice cream or baked goods. The water tower area has a cute jungle gym train for the kids to play on. On Saturdays in the summer, you and your family can find yourselves browsing the many booths at the Farmer's Market from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This runs from May-October.

The Railyard is the Haymarket's newest edition to downtown Lincoln. You can live and play in one location. The Railyard offers new condo's, restaurants, shops, arts, entertainment, summer festivals and winter ice skating in the public square. And, of course Pinnacle Bank Arena for concerts and Husker Basketball to name a few. The football stadium, baseball/softball stadiums are only a stone's throw away. You won't need a car to enjoy the good life in the Haymarket.

Lincoln's Haymarket features old town charm, where it all got started! Pinnacle Bank Arena, lofts, condos, restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries, theater, coffee shops and office suites. Business by day, party by night. The Farmer's Market in the summer can't be beat! Oh, and red is the only color in The Haymarket on football Saturdays!
  • It's been hailed by fans of the Tandoor as one of the most authentic places to find Indian cuisine in the Midwest. The Oven has been one of the most enduring date night traditions for my wife and me. If you are a newcomer to Indian food, the wait staff is very informative and can guide you through the menu and recommend wine and beer pairings. My favorite dish is the Safed Maas, which makes a particularly tasty breakfast the next day if you can resist the urge to finish it. My wife is partial to the Goa Shrimp, and the classic Mulligatawny soup is a great way to start out.
  • During these cold midwest winters, it can be difficult to find activities for my loved ones and me. Here's an idea: ice skating at the Railyard Ice Skating Rink. Admission is free, skate rental available at a reasonable price. Click the link for fees and hours of operation.
